Creating space for immigrant communities to speak up: Building solutions to address substance use and addiction through discourse

Role overview: To be a co-applicant in the grant and actively participate in all the phases of the study should we get funded.

Knowledge, experience, skills required: Seeking immigrants who have lived experience with substance use disorder or have been affected by substance use disorder- i.e. you have a loved one who lives with problematic substance use. Ability to share their lived experiences on the impact of substance on their lives and that of their families.

Time commitment: During project development- one hour a week; once funded, 1.5-2 hours every two weeks.

Location: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Regina, and virtually

What you can expect from staff: We will provide support to the Patient Partner by meeting with them regularly to share our knowledge and respond to their concerns. We will also ensure that they complete SCPOR Modules 1 and 2 so that they can understand their roles.

Supports available to participate: Honoraria, Expense Reimbursement
