Opportunity Details
Position type: Patient Partner

Number of positions available: 3-4

Organization: Saskatchewan Centre for Patient-Oriented Research (SCPOR)

Role overview: The SCPOR Patient Partner Review Committee will review SCPOR Traineeship applications and determine a score via consensus using the Patient-Oriented Level of Engagement Tool (PORLET). SCPOR Traineeships aim to build capacity in patient-oriented research among University of Saskatchewan students and researchers.

Patient Partners will be responsible to review all SCPOR Traineeships application packages independently. Patient Partners will then complete the review form in reference to the PORLET, and then submit to SCPOR in advance of the adjudication meeting. The SCPOR Traineeships Patient Partner Review Committee will meet and assign a PORLET score and recommendation through consensus to a Traineeship application.

Time commitment: The SCPOR Traineeships Patient Partner Review Committee will meet at least five times (orientation in January, meetings to draw consensus in March, February, and twice in April) for several hours including prep work. The opportunity will begin on January 10, 2022. Initial terms will be approximately six months (subject to Terms of Reference) with an opportunity for renewal.

Location: Zoom/Microsoft Teams/Virtual meetings

What you can expect from the research team: Patient Partners will be provided with an orientation to SCPOR, patient-oriented research, and training to use the Patient-Oriented Research Level of Engagement Tool (PORLET) on January 12, 2022. SCPOR staff are committed to engage with PP, hear Patient Partner experiences, and collaborate to ensure meaningful inclusion of diverse voices in patient-oriented research.
